Dont' Get "Pebbled"

 So I watched the TLC Biopic on VH1 and I loved it. Whether they were telling the truth or it was a "fictionalized portrayal" I don't really give a hot rat's ass. 


I believed the young ladies of TLC were "pebbled" in their contracts but not because of Pebbles Reid herself but from the history of the industry itself.  I'm a HUGE MUSIC LOVER. Point. Blank. Period. There's no genre I don't love. I listen to them all.  

So in saying that if something comes on the Boob Tube about an artist I love I am glued to the TV. There was a special on about New Edition and they were talking about all the touring they did and album selling and still living in the projects.  

Another example would be New Kids on the Block (pre-NSync).  I'm showing my age with this one, but nonetheless they were basically done the same way.

So now to connect the dots on why the title of the post.  I read several blog sites daily Monday through Friday, faithfully.  So as I was making my rounds today I come across a post on gumbumper.com about Pebbles an this "Hidden" son, Tian McKissack. Now I ask you if a woman has a child that she's hidden from the public and barely claims as her own what makes you think she will do 3 young woman any better? My answer is she wouldn't.  I've had a long belief about women who have children and mistreat them.  If you can carry a child 10 months (yes it's 10 damn month trust me I have 4 children that I birthed) and will act like you don't know them and have nothing to do with them then what kind of mother, woman, person, are you?

Not to say everybody got to be the ratchet Mother / Grandmother that I am. Cuz that's not necessary and everybody aint about that life. But damn where's the love for someone who knows your heartbeat, that you carried and delivered. 

So Ms Perri McKissack Smith Reid Nixon Sharrieff or Ashley Winzor Smith Reid what you got to say now?

But for now I say "dont get pebbled."

Crazy Sexy Cool - THE TLC Biopic

If you did not watch this movie last night you missed some damn good TV!!!

I loved every bit of this movie.  Of course I cried at the end and that song was dope. I hope it's on Itunes. I need that in my song in my life. I was a little on the fence about Lil Mama. I can't say I really care for her but she nailed the part of Left Eye. I think she could be an honorary TLC member and be a half way decent substitute for Left Eye with Tionne and Rozonda.  And I say substitute and not replacement because I don't think Lisa Lopez could ever be replaced especially not in the heart of her sisters. But anyhoo, Keke Palmer as Chilli was a little off cuz I just keep seeing KeKe but she played her part well. I've loved Drew Sidora since she was on The Game playing Pooch Hall's piece of strange and that girl is the bomb too. And baby boy Evan Ross, what can I say. Don't underestimate him cuz he's Diana Ross's son!!! That boy can do the damn thing!

Overall it was a great movie.  I wanted to jump through the TV a couple times on how they were being done but it is what it is. I want to say the same thing happened with New Edition in the beginning. You live and you learn.

The message through the whole movie was beautiful and inspiring.
